As you could read on the blog below this one, the first band up was E.T, who did a more than decent job. I enjoyed listening, even though all of us felt that the sound was for once actually a bit too amped. It wasn’t bad sound, just very LOUD! This was actually the truth for most of the evening.

We were 5 girls around our standing table who were losely connected here tonight, all frequent LIVE House audience, and who chatted some in between the bands, who all agreed… it was LOUD!

The bands (in order of stage appearance) were:

  • E.T
  • DAZZLE
  • Endroit
  • Rabbit of Labyrinth
  • grace period

Out of these 5 bands DAZZLE! (Top photo) were, in my opinion, the best band this evening.
NOT because the other bands are necessarily less skilled or not good enough.
Grace Period for example is a great band, and have over this past winter really evolved! They have gone from what I found to be OK in the fall, to really getting it together as a band! Good sound, good songs and good enough for me to play on my iPod ever so often.

BUT Dazzle plays my kind of music! The music I listen to these days over and over on my iPod. A band I would pay to hear more of, buy more of, support, and a band I feel, that since I heard them the very first time, gives me that WOW feeling... the kick…

I bought their CD “Inside my Piece” this night and I have pretty much played it since then.
On their Facebook page they describe their music as “INDUSTRIAL THRASH GROOVE”
They do have some electronic grooves yet are heavy at times.. a bit like a Japanese version of Rammstein but yeah yet another kind impact maybe…Japanese Industrial Trash with Groove really explains their sound quite well.

Their Facebook page is here:

and you can listen to them here:

Endroit  (left photo in second row)
I dont have much to say about them. Their Vocalist takes up the whole mental space and mental stage, and obviously desires to do exactly that.  Personally I just cannot see the point with caressing yourself on stage when you are a rock vocalist, but maybe it works for some….
Either way their music isn’t bad, just not spot on hitting my personal music vibe and preference.
When I did some research tonight I could not find anything under ‘Endroit’, but reading closer on Live house pages I found a parenthesis stating:
ex MAGIER SEXALICE… so by taking that into search I found their [fan made]

under it was more info such as Myspace link:

Maybe this hints in the direction on the name change? Will need to look into this at a later point….

Next band; Rabbit of Labyrinth (no photo)
is harder for me to write about. I had problems with the vocalist. I actually noticed this with myself that there are few female vocalists I like in Japan.
It’s something about their pitch, or maybe the all too common vocal technique, that maybe is too unfamiliar to me or too ‘strange’ for me personally.  I have a hard time enjoying vocals like these.
I found a Youtube video, so instead of trying to explain in words or shove my opinion down your throats, why don’t you go and listen and make up your own opinion?!

The last band of the evening though – grace period has no such issues…
They are straight forward ROCK from stage and with a web site that is easy to find…
http://graceperiod.jp/
Eisuke
(vocals) was as energetic on stage as always and is quite a good performer who really WORKS it!
So does bassist YOU , 森下フミヤFumiya Morishita) on Drums  and
大舘 義直  ( Yoshinao Otachi) on Guitar. Especially I want to add, as I wrote above,
grace period have really evolved over this winter and spring. Most noticeable beside the sound quality and music, is that they are now, ALL four of them, working the stage a lot better and giving the audience a great performance.

By all means go and give them a ‘like’ on their Facebook page:

I got their latest Single and yes I like it!!
